Jido Policy Firewall
Specific Jido role: a narrow firewall against data poisoning and unsafe runtime payloads.
Narrow role
Jido is not the product brand, not the primary scheduler, and not a second CRM or skill store. Trinity uses Jido where it improves runtime safety: typed action-style checks around content provenance, quarantined refs, suspicious content-bearing payloads, and unsafe runtime package shapes before data reaches hosted Hermes.
The design is intentionally narrow. Phoenix/Postgres keep authority, Oban keeps durable retries, ToolRouter owns side effects, and Jido contributes a policy execution seam where typed actions make poisoning defenses easier to test and reason about.

Why this is protective
- Indirect prompt injection in email or documents cannot silently enter Hermes context.
- Hermes can see that content exists, but not read unreleased text.
- Fail-closed behavior is deterministic even when Jido is unavailable.
- ToolRouter receives the same firewall policy so direct hosted-runtime tool calls cannot bypass it.
- Audit metadata records allowed and blocked decisions without storing private content.

What Jido should not do here
- Replace Oban for durable retries.
- Replace Ecto contexts for state ownership.
- Become a second approval or skill lifecycle store.
- Add visible infrastructure labels that confuse normal users.
